NEW YORK (AP) — A trove of poetry, fiction and nonfiction by the acclaimed author May Sarton is coming out in digital format.

Open Road Integrated Media announced Tuesday it had acquired rights to 58 works by Sarton, a multiple National Book Award finalist who died in 1995.

Eight volumes of poetry were made available as e-books Tuesday. This summer, 10 more e-books will be released. They include her novel "Mrs. Stevens Hears the Mermaids Singing," in which she wrote openly about being a lesbian, and her memoir "Journal of a Solitude."

Sarton's other works include the novel "A Shower of Summer Days" and the memoir "Endgame: A Journal of the Seventh-Ninth Year."
