(KSL News) Officials diverted traffic near the Salt Lake airport this morning while crews repaired a gas leak. A contractor working for the airport hit the line with a backhoe. The airport fire department responded and called Questar crews to the scene.

Darren Shepherd, Questar: "When we arrived we could see the gas was just dissipating into the air, and there were no problems with gas near the buildings and no reason for an evacuation at this time."
Crews hoped to repair the line without interrupting gas service to buildings in the area.
