SALT LAKE CITY -- Six members of a Utah charity group are on their way to Haiti.
The Mothers Without Borders group boarded a plane bound for the Dominican Republic Saturday afternoon. When they get to that country, they plan to rent a car and drive to neighboring Haiti to begin helping with the relief effort.
"Our major area of concern is the number of children who have been newly orphaned by this disaster," says Kathy Headlee-Miner, founder and CEO of Mothers Without Borders.
The group will hand out food and hygiene kits and help build shelters over the next two weeks. They will be documenting their experiences on the Mothers Without Borders website.
