NORTHERN UTAH -- Hundreds of Utah employees at ATK received termination notices Thursday as part of a previously-announced reduction of workforce.
A spokesperson for ATK said the number of employees laid off -- 380 -- is actually fewer than what was originally projected, which was 500. She noted that an additional 50 employees voluntarily left as part of the layoff.
Executives first announced the layoffs in December. They're due to the completion of contracts connected to NASA's space shuttle program, which is ending this year.
