ST. GEORGE, Utah (AP) -- The Washington County School District is anticipating an 11 percent jump in enrollment this year.

The 2005-06 budget report adopted by the school board last week projects student enrollment for Oct. 1 may reach 23,923 students, up 2,372 from last year.

"Most of our growth right now has been occurring in Washington Fields in the Coral Canyon area and in Little Valley," said Brent Bills, district business administrator.

The anticipated increase includes 1,446 new elementary students, 341 intermediate and middle school students and roughly 585 high school students.
