SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- The Utah Senate has approved a measure to let taxpayers donate money on their tax returns to help rebuild homes tainted by methamphetamine.

Senate Bill 12 was passed Tuesday 22-to-6.

Sen. Karen Mayne, a West Valley City Democrat, says money collected from the donations would be given to organizations like Habitat for Humanity.

The bill now advances to the House.
