SALT LAKE CITY -- The Utah Avalanche Center wants to remind Utahns to be careful not to trigger avalanches.
Officials say there have been number of large and dangerous human-triggered slides the last few days with at least one skier taking a ride in an avalanche.
No one has been injured, but the avalanche center warns it's probably going to get worse.
The center issued an avalanche watch Thursday morning for all mountains of Utah, citing a weak pre-existing snowpack along with recent snow and strong winds as a setup to dangerous conditions in the backcountry. They've asked that steep avalanche terrain be avoided over the next few days.
With additional snowfall over the next few days, the center expects to issue a high avalanche warning tomorrow or Saturday.
