PROVO, Utah (AP) -- Former Utah Senate Majority Leader Curt Bramble says he will seek the post again in the wake of Sheldon Killpack's resignation a day after he was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
Killpack, a Syracuse Republican who had been serving as the Senate's second-in-command, said in a statement Saturday that he decided to quit the Legislature after discussing his options with his family and friends.
That's opened up the door for Bramble, a Provo Republican, to return to leadership.
Bramble says he's received several calls from Senate Republicans asking him to run for the leadership position.
The Legislature convenes Jan. 25.
