(KSL News) A U.S. Navy war ship named after the city of Ogden was decommissioned this week.
At a ceremony in San Diego, the ship's crew, family members and Navy officials gathered for a special ceremony.
The USS Ogden was built in New York in 1965 and was in service for more than 40 years. It was used in the Vietnam and Persian Gulf wars, and more recently used to help protect oil terminals near Iraq. The vessel was capable of launching assaults by both sea and air.
