(Salt Lake City-AP) -- A Utah Senate committee approved a measure that will double the fine for illegally parking in handicapped zones.
The current fine has been 100 dollars. But lawmakers say that raising the fine might do a better job of getting people's attention.
The measure, which also would double the 50 dollar fine for illegally parking in a school bus zone, now heads to the full Senate for consideration.
