BEAVER -- An accident on Interstate 15 in Beaver County killed an elderly Colorado couple Wednesday afternoon.

Utah Highway Patrol spokesman Cameron Roden said a minivan was northbound on I-15 when it slid over the median into the southbound lanes. It was hit by a pickup truck, which was pulling a utility trailer.

A man and woman in the minivan, identified as 77-year-old Robert Moore and 80-year-old Bednonna Moore, died from their injuries.

The occupants of the pickup were sent to Beaver Valley Hospital with minor injuries.

The crash forced the closure of the southbound I-15 off-ramp at the North Beaver interchange. It was reopened once the accident was cleaned up.
