OGDEN -- An Ogden father is behind bars accused of shooting his daughter's estranged boyfriend.
Police say it all started Wednesday morning when the daughter called her father, Eliazar Cantu, after her boyfriend had kicked her out of the apartment they shared on the 500 West block of 24th Street.
The father arrived at the home and while he was loading his granddaughter into the car, the boyfriend, Rudy Garcia, came out and started arguing with him.
At some point, Cantu pulled out a .22-caliber handgun and fired a shot, hitting Garcia in the chest. He was not seriously injured.
Cantu was booked into the Weber County Jail for aggravated assault.
