(KSL News) -- A man got away with an undisclosed amount of cash today from a Zions Bank branch in Sandy.
The suspect entered the bank on 106th South and passed a note to a teller demanding money. Witnesses say he then left in a red mini-van with California plates.
Police found that van abandoned at a nearby Hampton Inn. Police dogs are now searching for more clues.
Lt. Kevin Thacker, Sandy Police Department: "They had a partial description of both the vehicle and the license plate, so we're confident it's the vehicle we're looking for. It's just a matter of trying to find who was driving it."
According to police the van was a rental. So, they are now trying to track down the person who rented it.
