Press releaseOREM -- For the second time this season, Utah Valley University guard Jordan Swarbrick has been named the Great West Conference Player of the Week the league office announced Monday.
Swarbrick recorded a career-high 30 points while shooting 68.4 percent (13-of-19) from the field and 80 percent (4-of-5) from the three-point line in an 82-74 loss to San Jose State of the Western Athletic Conference last week. He also tallied a career-high five steals, four rebounds and three assists.
Swarbrick was named the player of the week the first week of the year after coming off the bench to score what was then a career-high 20 points in an 80-72 victory over North Dakota State.
In that game he was 5-of-9 from the field including 3-of-5 from the three-point line and 7-of-8 from the foul line.
For the year, Swarbrick leads the team in scoring (15.9), steals (11), assists (18) and is second in field goal percentage at 47.4 percent and third in rebounding at 6.0 rebounds a game.
The Wolverines (3-4) are in action Tuesday night when they host William Jessup (3-7) at 7 p.m. at the McKay Center.
