(KSL News) -- A former US National paragliding champion from Salt Lake City is missing in the Swiss Alps after taking part in a long distance competition.
Scotty Marion disappeared August eighth after taking off for a flight that was supposed to last several hours. Helicopters and airplanes have been searching for Marion since last week.
Marion is currently an instructor with "Point of the Mountain Paragliding" and a co/op instructor with "The Paragliding Academy".
