(KSL News) Attempted murder and kidnapping charges have been filed against the fiance of a woman shot to death by police earlier this month.

Authorities say Natalie Turner and David Gayler went to the home of Turner's ex-husband, planning to kill him to keep him from gaining custody of the couple's two children.

After the ex-husband was allegeldy shot in an argument, Turner and Gayler were driving him to the hospital when police pulled them over.

Turner was shot when she got out of the car armed with a gun.

Gayler has maintianed his innocenece in the matter.
