TOOELE COUNTY -- A traffic stop in Tooele County Friday morning turned into a drug bust.

A Utah Highway Patrol trooper pulled over a car for a traffic violation on Interstate 80.

Traffic stop turns into drug bust

During the stop, the trooper's dog signaled the scent of drugs. When the dog started barking, the car took off.

The trooper chased the vehicle at speeds up to 130 miles an hour until it took an exit onto Kennecott property.

The trooper found the driver, his vehicle and several pounds of marijuana.

The driver, Lucas Hinde, was arrested and charged with Fleeing and transporting illegal narcotics.
