(St. George-AP) -- A naked man who was flushed from a cave in St. George by police using tear gas is sentenced to jail time for the incident.
34-year old David Nicholas King was sentenced yesterday to serve up to a year in Purgatory Correctional Facility for two misdemeanor charges of lewdness and interfering with an officer.
King was arrested August 30 after exposing himself to park goers from inside a cave at Pioneer Primitive Park.
Officers had to force the naked King out of the cave with tear gas.
King admits committing the crimes and apologized to the victims of the August incident.
Police say King has been arrested seven times in St. George since 2001.
King says he had abused drugs when he committed the crimes and promised to stop his substance abuse.
