SALT LAKE CITY -- "Twilight" fans have been going crazy over the second movie installment "New Moon" ever since it opened in theaters at midnight. The movies about vampires and werewolves are making grown women act like kids again.
Fans of 'Twilight' attend special party
The day "New Moon" tickets went on sale Cathy Brunken bought 30 tickets for the midnight premiere.

She said, "A lot of us got the books from our kids, now we can have our own party."
But this was no ordinary get-together. An Edward cutout greeted guests at the door and another cutout was next to the fireplace.
"New Moon" fan Maree Morgan said, "He lives with me. He lives in my home. I was gracious enough to share him with everybody tonight."
For members of "Team Jacob," there was a good excuse to clean your plate; as if you needed one with all of the Twilight saga snacks. And the refreshments were a little unconventional.
It was the perfect place to let your inner "Twerd" go wild by learning a "Twilight" inspired dance routine, naturally. But not everyone was a "Twi-Hard."

After a quick vampire touch-up, everyone got on the "Twilight" Tour Bus, let the excitement take over and headed to the theater, where they met other proud Twi-Hards to see if "New Moon" will keep fans thirsting for more.
Midnight moviegoers not disappointed in 'New Moon'
The reviews are in from some midnight moviegoers who saw the much-anticipated "New Moon." All of the fans we talked to at The Gateway were not disappointed by the "Twilight" sequel.
One moviegoer said, "It was the most incredible thing of my life, like so much better than the first one. They showed a special edition of Jacob and I wanted to cry."
Another said, "It has the perfect ending. The ending is like icing on the cake. It's perfect."

Another Twi-hard said, "Definitely what we expected. It was amazing. Plus hot, shirtless guys—definitely good."
Many fans said they haven't gotten enough. They said, "This is my second showing for today," and, "I'm going tomorrow, actually I guess it's later today, and then tomorrow. I'm just so excited."
Some fans watched the movie and then got into the "New Moon" spirit by giving blood. The American Red Cross welcomed "Twilight" fans for a blood drive Thursday night.
Several participants said they don't give blood often but rolled up their sleeves to help before the midnight showing.
Why do women of all ages go nuts over ‘Twilight?'
Christy Seifert, an associate professor of communication at Westminster College and "Twilight" expert, believes the series' appeal lies in the dream that many women have of finding a man who simply can't live without her.
She said, "I think it may have a lot to do with the fact that women see this as a romantic story that they're not getting in any other place in terms of other narratives or in their own lives."
She even told KSL about one woman whose husband allowed her to call him Edward for awhile.
