ROOSEVELT -- Roosevelt police are trying to figure out why a man lost control of his car just before it struck and killed a utility worker Tuesday afternoon.
The driver was headed south on State Street in Roosevelt when his car crossed the center line near 1800 South. He hit a fence and slammed into a worker who was marking telephone wiring boxes. The worker died at the hospital.
Roosevelt's chief of police says it does not appear drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.
