Park City and Hurricane have never won a state championship. Both teams would love another chance to make history. Hurricane reached the state championship game last year and it took a last second field goal by Juan Diego to deny the Tigers of that championship that has eluded the school for so long. To get back to the championship game, the Tigers must find a way to slow down the Park City run game. Miners' running back Dylan Chynoweth has had a remarkable season running the football gaining 2,127 yards and scoring an incredible 33 touchdowns. His most impressive stat may be that he averaged 13 yards a carry. If you try to stop Chynoweth, that leaves quarterback Erik Walker to wreak havoc on your defense. He has rushed for 1,380 yards and 19 touchdowns while averaging a whopping 14.5 yards a carry. The Miners are confident team entering the game with a 10 game winning streak. Their average margin of victory is 32 points and they are the only Utah team to have a lead over Juan Diego at halftime this season.

Does all this mean that Hurricane has no chance on Friday? Not at all. The Tigers boast a defense that has given up just 16 points a game and will be the best defense the Miners have seen since being held to just 14 points by Juan Diego in week two. The Tigers balanced offense is averaging 36 points a game and will have no trouble keeping up with the Miners offense if this game turns into a shootout. Tim Long has been very efficient at quarterback while Robert Reeve, Jarom Healy and Jacob Pugh have combined for 34 touchdowns on the ground. These are two evenly matched teams and this is a game that could come down to the very last play.
