(Provo-AP) -- A former Salt Lake Community College instructor is having his bail lowered to 25-thousand dollars.
A judge reduced the bail from 75-thousand dollars yesterday for Roger Wilkins who faces charges of rape, forcible sodomy and two counts of forcible sex abuse.
Police say the charges stem from incidents in January involving Wilkins and an 18-year-old student he met last fall at the community college.
The judge reduced the bail so Wilkins could afford a sign language interpreter.
Wilkins is listed on the Utah Sex Offender Registry from a charge of lewdness involving a child in 1993.
Wilkins has taught American Sign Language at Salt Lake Community College and Utah Valley State College.
