CENTERVILLE -- Emergency crews and city workers were put to the test in Centerville Saturday. The city held a mock disaster simulation at one of the parks.

The scenario was a massive flood out of Centerville Canyon that blocked roads, forced residents to evacuate and injured many people.

Volunteers played the role of injured victims while police officers, lawmakers and other emergency officials tested their training.

"All of us hope that our skills and training probably are not needed, but when they are we hope that we've prepared ourselves for that," said Cory Snyder, the public relations officer for Centerville.

City officials planned to review Saturday's simulation and make any necessary improvements in case of a real emergency.
