WEST JORDAN -- A former West Jordan Middle School employee was arrested for having sex with two 15-year-old students.

Andrea Billingsley, 31, is a former in-school suspension aid. She was arrested Tuesday by the West Jordan Police Department.

According to the probable cause statement, at the end of the last school year, Billingsley showed the two teens some sexually-explicit material then engaged in sex acts with them at the school, which is located at 7550 S. Redwood Road.

Then in July, Billingsley, who is married, met the two boys at the school and took them to a different location where she had sex with them again.

Police believe there could be more victims.

Police say the number of these types of crimes is alarming.

Dan Roberts of the West Jordan Police Department said, "Anytime a person in a position of trust, like a school teacher, takes advantage of children in this manner it's especially shocking.

In fact, state education officials say sexual misconduct by teachers is the No. 1 reason Utah educators are forced to surrender their teaching licenses.

Billingsley was let go because funding ran out for her position.
