(KSL News) Some of Utah's Pacific Islanders were recognized for their achievements this weekend.

The Utah Office of Pacific Islander Affairs and the Governor's Initiative on Families today honored more than 100 high school students, as well as the 2004 Pacific Islander families and teacher of the year.

Stephanie Pikola/ Sterling Scholar: "The secret of being a good student, don't procrastinate. Do the best you can. Don't lower your standards and just try your best."

Polynesian leaders say it's a tremendous example to the younger polynesian generation.
