PROVO -- BYU tight end Dennis Pitta has been named to the SportsIllustrated.com Midseason All-America First Team.
The senior from Moorpark, Calif., leads the nation in receiving yards by a tight end with 471 yards on 34 catches.
He has a team-leading five touchdown receptions on the year while helping BYU to a 6-1 record and No. 16 national ranking.
Pitta has already set standards this year as BYU's all-time leader among tight ends in career receptions (193) and yards (2,543).
With a catch versus TCU on Saturday, Pitta will tie the BYU record for consecutive games with a catch, held by Glen Kozlowski, with 38.
