ZION NATIONAL PARK, Utah (AP) -- A father and son have been taken by helicopter from Zion National Park after their ultralight plane crashed in a remote area.
The plane went down Saturday evening near the Right Fork trailhead near Kolob Terrace Road.
Park officials say the 60-year-old father fractured his ankle and his arm. The son, in his 20s, had bumps and bruises.
Medics spent the night with the two men near the crash site. On Sunday morning, they were taken out in a helicopter from Grand Canyon National Park.
The men's names were not released. Zion spokesman Ron Terry says they live in the St. George area. He says one man went to the hospital and another declined treatment.
Terry says the men reported a loss of power to the aircraft before it crashed. The cause remains under investigation.
