FINAL Fourth Quarter

2:10 Fourth Quarter
(18) BYU 38, San Diego St. 28

Mitch Payne's 45-YD field goal might have sealed it for the Cougars but fans will certainly have a lot of questions about the defensive struggles this game.

2:21 Fourth Quarter
(18) BYU 38, San Diego St. 28

Payne does the job at 45 Yards and gives the Cougars a two score lead.....38-28 BYU....2:21 to go.....

5:20 Fourth Quarter

8;17 Fourth Quarter

8:17 Fourth Quarter
(18) BYU 35, San Diego St. 21

BYU has the two score lead, but still a lot of time left and the Aztecs inside the 15 yard line of BYU ....threatening to score ....AZTECS get it done 35-28!

12:00 Fourth Quarter

CORRECTION TO THE SCORE FROM THE LAST BLOG

13:37 Fourth Quarter
(18) BYU 42, San Diego St. 21

Thanks to some big drops by the Aztec WRs the Cougars have gotten some big stops and if they can score on this drive it will be tough for SDSU to keep playing catch-up like this.

2:37 Third Quarter
(18) BYU 28, San Diego St. 21

The offense gets it done, but the Cougars need to get some separation from the Aztecs.....This is a big drive for the Cougars to get a two score lead.....Luke Ashworth a good way to start the drive......!!!!!

4:00 Third Quarter
(18) BYU 21, San Diego St. 21

Does it look like BYU is playing a little bit desperately? The offense is moving the ball fine but the defense doesn't seem to want to match suit. The Offense is going to have to win this one since the Defense isn't showing signs of life.

10:20 Third Quarter
(18) BYU 21, San Diego St. 14

Big miss for BYU going for it on 4th.....Good calling going for it.....but a soft run call instead of just bullying up the middle and taking your chances with the O-Line.......

HALFTIME Second Quarter
(18) BYU 21, San Diego St. 14

Well, at the half the Cougars aren't very stout on the defensive end of things giving up big plays very quickly, often. Those holes need to be patched in the secondary because the Aztec offense is no slouch as they've proven. Add to that some pressure from your defensive line and you could see some better results in the second half. Cougs get the ball first in the second half.

Big Play MAX HALL!!

4:00 Second Quarter
(18) BYU 14, San Diego St. 14

And the D makes a play to stop the Aztecs .....A huge play for BYU to turn the momentum a little bit for the time being......Can the offense make something happen with the turnover.....????

9:06 Second Quarter
(18) BYU 14, San Diego St. 14

BYU gets in the end zone for the second time with another long drive. The D gets some rest, but SDSU is still scoring too easily......time to step up!

12:37 Second Quarter
San Diego St. 14, (18) BYU 7

Obvious Holes in BYU's secondary. Now that SDSU has scored two unanswered TDs they have a lot more confidence and BYU is headed in the opposite direction. Once again, defensive stops are the key.

4:31 First Quarter
(18) BYU 7, San Diego St. 7

A little too easy for SDSU on that TD. The Cougars do not want a shootout in this game. The offense looked good on their opening drive, but if this one starts going back and forth offensively the Cougars will need to step up defensively at some point.....

7:50 First Quarter
(18) BYU 7, San Diego St. 0

Great first drive. The 5 players that Bronco had initially called questionable to play because of flu-like symptoms are all playing. So I guess they feel ok. AK
