SALT LAKE CITY -- The Autism Council of Utah presented the Outstanding Organization of the Year award to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for the creation of its website for people with disabilities.

The church spent five years working on the site.

Elder Paul B. Piper, of the LDS Quorum of the Seventy, said, "The website helps provide support for parents and teachers of those with disabilities and information for those with disabilities themselves about the church and its programs."

The award was given at the Critical Issues Facing Children and Adolescents Conference.
