SUMMIT COUNTY -- A patch of ice caused a massive accident in Parley's Canyon Monday morning.
The Utah Highway Patrol said a semi truck hit the ice as it approached the summit. The driver lost control, and the truck went over the side of the road and down into Summit Park.
It landed on the freeway on-ramp, shutting down all lanes of traffic.
The driver of the truck was not seriously injured but was trapped inside the cab of the truck for some time.
Troopers had to use the Jaws of Life to free him.
