Corroon edged past Republican candidate Ellis Ivory, who was permanently placed on the ballot by a Utah Supreme Court decision last week.

The court denied a challenge from the Utah Democratic Party, which claimed the Republican party couldn't replace incumbent Nancy Workman on the ballot with Ivory.

Workman had produced a doctor's note to get her name off the ballot as she faced felony charges of misusing public money.
