DAVIS COUNTY -- Police in Clearfield, Layton, Syracuse and West Point are looking for answers in a vanalism spree that has caused up to $30,000 in damages.
Early Sunday morning or late Saturday night, police say someone used a BB gun or pellet gun to shoot out windows in dozens of cars and at least one house.

"Some of them were rear windows; some were passenger windows; some were driver-side windows," said Layton police Lt. Quinn Moyes. "It looks like just whatever they had--the best angle or the best opportunity--to shoot the vehicle."
In Layton, 16 cars and one home were hit. In Clearfield, the total is 25. No one, so far, has reported hearing or seeing anything take place. Police are hoping that will change.
"This isn't a prank. This is criminal," Moyes said.
He says in some cases the vandals left valuable items inside cars that were damaged.
Authorities in Davis County are trying to find the culprits behind a series of shootings that shattered dozens of car windows.
