SUMMIT COUNTY -- An engaged couple was killed Saturday morning in a crash on U.S. Highway 40. Two other people were seriously injured.

According to the Utah Highway Patrol, a 19-year-old woman and her 21-year-old fiance were headed to work around 6:30. The couple was westbound near the Interstate 80 interchange in Summit County in a white Chevy, when the woman suddenly swerved across the median and smashed into a Jeep Cherokee that was traveling in the opposite direction.

Both the woman and her fiance were killed. The woman was seven months pregnant.

The people in the Jeep were flown to University Hospital by medical helicopter in stable but serious condition.
