SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- The Utah National Guard is hosting its annual Governor's Day event at Rice-Eccles Stadium at the University of Utah.

The Saturday event gives Gov. Gary Herbert a chance to hold a pass-and-review ceremony for troops as required by statute. Herbert is commander in chief of the Utah National Guard.

Herbert also will meet with individual airmen and soldiers.

The crowd is expected to be 5,000 or more. Festivities will include flyovers by Utah National Guard aircraft, a cannon salute and music provided by the 23rd Army Band.

The event is usually held at Camp Williams but nearby construction caused it to be moved to the university.
