SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- A new study shows Utah has the lowest rate of binge drinking among college students in the country.
The study was done by Harvard School of Public Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The report claims binge drinking is "significantly lower" in states, like Utah where laws discourage excessive consumption. It also found college location plays a role.
Campus binge drinking rates were 31-percent lower in states that had four or more laws targeting high-volume sales of alcohol versus states that did not.
