SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Authorities in Utah say a paraglider suffered leg injuries when he fell 60 feet and crashed into a hillside near Point of the Mountain.
Capt. Clint Smith of the Unified Fire Authority says the 40-year-old man fell Wednesday evening. He says the man was flown by helicopter to a hospital with injuries to his legs and possibly his spine.
Smith says the area is popular with paragliders because of the winds, which are strong but often unpredictable.
Point of the Mountain is in Draper, about 16 miles south of Salt Lake City.
