SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Utah homeland security agencies have been awarded more than 20(M)million dollars in federal funding for training, equipment, exercises and planning.
Officials say the money will be used to improve coordination and communication between police, firefighters and other first-responders.
They say the funds are part of two-point-five (B)billion dollars in federal counter-terrorism grants awarded by the U-S Department of Homeland Security this year.
The state's Grant Advisory Board now has 60 days to distribute the money to Utah's seven established regional response teams.
