LEHI — A Pleasant Grove man who allegedly told police he is a "violent person" has been arrested and accused of choking a relative and breaking his arm because he dropped a box.

Brice Jay Terry, 30, was charged Wednesday in 4th District Court with two counts of aggravated assault, a second-degree felony, and drug possession, a class A misdemeanor.

On Monday, a man was helping his nephew, Terry, move some boxes at a residence in Lehi when he "dropped one of the boxes and (Terry) got angry," according to charging documents. Police say Terry then put his uncle in a headlock and tried to "choke him out."

"Brice stated that while he was holding (the victim) in a headlock, he was trying to get (him) to pass out," according to a police booking affidavit.

The man later told police "he had been choked out by Brice. He stated it had been several minutes of pressure to his neck. He stated he had completely gone unconscious," the affidavit states.

When the uncle regained consciousness, Terry grabbed a shovel and hit the man's arm twice, breaking it, the charges allege.

"While en route to the jail, Brice stated that he is 'a violent person' and that he solves problems with violence," according to the affidavit.

Police also reported Terry was in possession of methamphetamine when he was arrested.
