LOGAN, Utah (AP) -- A Logan City Council member has turned in his city-issued credit card after using it for personal use.
Steven Taylor used the credit card to buy six-thousand dollars worth of gas, car rentals, meals and jewelry for his wife. Taylor, reimbursed the city each month that he used the card for personal spending.
He says he was never told that the card was strictly for city business. But yesterday said he should have used better judgment.
The city's attorney said Taylor did not follow city procedures, but his actions were not criminal since Taylor repaid the city each time he used the card.
Last week, the city revised its policy on credit card use, which now applies to elected officials and not just employees.
