Coco Warner Reporting The Easter Bunny paid an early visit to Primary Children's Medical Center today, and he had a few helpers. Men and women from the Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office swarmed the hospital, but it was for a good cause. They helped deliver some Easter cheer to children who spent this Good Friday not feeling so good.

Easter Bunny Visits Primary Children's Hospital

At seven-weeks, this is baby Jessica's first Easter, and a visit by a law abiding rabbit makes it all the more memorable. Today the Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office participated in a nationwide program that provides a visit from the Easter Bunny and small, plush toys for children who have to spend their holiday in the hospital.

Sheriff Aaron Kennard, Salt Lake County: “The best part is naturally we get to see the sunshine smiles coming out of these young boys and girls that are quite sick.”

And considering their day job, it's nice to share some good news with Utah families.

Det. Danielle Mudrock: “We investigate child physical and sexual abuse and deal with Primary Children’s on a daily basis, so we have the utmost respect for the hospital in general.”

And if you have to spend your Good Friday not feeling so good, a visit from the Easter Bunny and even a badge from the Sheriff's office certainly helps.

Kristy Nelson: “He was really excited to see the Easter Bunny come down the hall, ‘cause we’re going to have to be waiting for a while. It was nice to have a distraction.”

The Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office and the non-profit group, The Easter Bunny Incorporated gave away 200 plus toys today-- one for every child at Primary's.
