Richard Piatt ReportingToday Heidi Mattingly said she wants all her ten kids back more than anything else in the world.
Heidi Mattingly: “You never get used to it. You never get used to not tucking your kids into bed at night and not being to tell them that you love them every day.”
Part of the deal, limited contact with all of her kids, based on charges of abuse more than a year ago. Mattingly is here for a permanency hearing to determine whether or not she’ll get her kids back.
In court she was unwilling to admit any abuse ever existed from either her or Kingston, but did say she has learned from her mistakes.
Heidi Mattingly: “It does a lot to a person I guess. A person does a lot of soul searching when they’re put in this type of situation. And I think I’ve come to learn and understand a lot of things that I didn’t know before.”
There is a side note to this story today. A brief altercation broke out between protesters and the son of the judge in this case, Andrew Valdez. The son was detained and released with a misdemeanor citation for disorderly conduct. He took some of the fliers and signs from the protesters and threw them into the street.
The hearing continues tomorrow, after that the judge will decide what to do in this case.
