LOGAN, Utah (AP) -- The Cache County Sheriff's Office says an inmate found unconscious in his cell at the county jail has died.
Capt. Kim Cheshire says a deputy doing routine rounds at 9:36 p.m. found 36-year-old Eric Travis Hanger, of Preston, Idaho, in his cell Monday night.
Jail staff performed CPR but couldn't revive Hanger. He was later pronounced dead at Logan Regional Medical Center.
Cheshire says there were no obvious signs of injury. No further details were released pending autopsy results.
Hanger had been in jail since April 30. He had been arrested for allegedly violating probation from an earlier conviction.
