SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Residents across the state are preparing for the worst case scenario as snowpack continues to rush down Utah's mountains.

Flood watches and warnings are still in effect across the Beehive state.

The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for most of southern Utah, including Venice in Sevier County.

Residents and county officials there are working hard and quickly to get homes near the Piute Reservoir sandbagged. Right now, they're working on sandbagging homes on Main Street.

Officials say they do need volunteers to help with sandbagging. If anyone is interested in helping out they're asked to call the Sevier County Sheriff's Office at 435-896-2600.
