SALT LAKE CITY -- A University of Utah student got Tasered after allegedly touching a female inappropriately on a bus.
The Utah Daily Chronicle reports students were heading to the Crimson Nights activity on a U shuttle bus Friday. One intoxicated student is accused of reaching out and feeling the back side of a female on the bus. Her male friend got angry about it and when the bus stopped, the two got into a yelling match outside. It escalated into a fight.
University police arrived and broke up the fight, but the drunk student tried to run away. Police used a Taser to stop him. Officers then took him to the University Medical Center. He was released shortly after 5 a.m. Sunday.
The Chronicle reports officers then booked him into juvenile detention for underage drinking, possession of alcohol by a minor, sexual offense, false identification to an officer and fleeing from an officer.
