SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- A center that offers therapeutic services and classes to children will be able to serve more of them thanks to a move to a newly renovated building.
The Children's Center has been housed at a building near the University of Utah Medical Center. It's now moving to the four-story Oquirrh School. The school was built in 1894 and was renovated last year with $13 million the center raised over five years.
The center on Saturday celebrated the new location, which is three times larger than its previous home. The center helps 1,800 children and parents. Officials plan to expand the number to 2,500.
Center Development Director Courtney Garay says the organization plans to double the services it offers over the next 10 years.
