SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- A Salt Lake City park will soon get a facelift.
Last night, the Salt Lake City Council unofficially voted to put 600-thousand dollar toward renovating Pioneer Park.
The park will also get 500-thousand dollars from a federal grant, bringing the total to one-point-one (M)million in renovation money.
However, Mayor Rocky Anderson wanted almost five (M)million dollars to improve the park. Council members said they didn't put more money toward renovations because they don't fully support the mayor's vision for the park. Also, they don't want to take money from Liberty Park, which will receive one (M)million dollars for renovations this year.
