PROVO, Utah (AP) -- Keena Young scored a game-high 17 points, including 13 in the second half, to help Brigham Young to a 73-to-59 win over Liberty in the BYU Holiday Classic.
BYU used a 13-and-two run capped by a Trent Plaisted free throw to stretch a four point halftime lead to 15 with about 14 minutes left in the game.
Liberty had a nine-and-four run of its own to close the Cougar lead to seven on three consecutive 3-pointers by Tyler Baker and Dwight Brewington, but couldn't pull any closer.
Alex McLean had a game-high ten rebounds and led the Flames in scoring along with Dwight Brewington at 14 points each.
The victory improved BYU's home winning streak to 21 games. Today was the first day of the three-day round-robin tournament hosted by BYU.
