(KSL News) A Bountiful native is stepping down as the Director of the Bureau of Land Management. Kathleen Clark, the first woman and second Utahn in the post, took over the agency almost five years ago.
Before taking over the BLM, Clarke had worked as executive director of the Utah Department of Natural Resources.
Clark is planning to return to Utah.
The BLM manages 258 million acres, about one-eighth of the land in the United States.
