SALT LAKE CITY — Ron Boone is one of 7 men from the same area in Omaha who turned pro over a 10-year span during the civil rights era, including Gayle Sayers and Bob Gibson.
"There's only three of us left, of those guys," Boone said.
Not only was Boone an Omaha legend, he's also a Utah legend, helping the Utah Stars to an ABA championship in 1971. He's also been calling Utah Jazz games for more than 35 years.
"I really think, and I've given this some thought, it's maybe two more years and then give it up," Boone said.
