WEST POINT -- A woman is facing multiple charges after a sheriff's deputy caught her in the act with a 15-year-old girl in a parked car. It happened Sunday around 4:15 p.m. at Bingham Park in West Point.

"The deputy came upon a vehicle. The deputy, just on routine patrol, checked the vehicle and found an adult female intimately involved with a 15-year-old girl," Davis County Sheriff's Capt. Kenny Payne told KSL Newsradio.

Payne says the woman, 37-year-old Kerrie Lyn Ferguson, admitted to a relationship with the girl.

"Apparently it's an acquaintance of her daughter or a friend of her daughter," Payne said.

It's unclear how long the relationship had been going on.

"You just have to be prepared for anything you find," Payne said. "Sometimes you find adults with children, and sometimes it may be a male with a female, or a male with a male. This one is an adult female with a female juvenile."

Ferguson was booked into the Davis County Jail Sunday. She posted $50,000 bail on Monday.
